The best way to ensure a long and happy relationship with a purebred dog is to purchase from a responsible breeder. Please be aware that purchasing a puppy through a classified ad, either in a newspaper or magazine, from the local mall or from an online website is probably not the best way to get a "good dog."  Buying from a reputable breeder who can explain the genetics, characteristics, health history and flaws of each line, will often result in the best marriage of pet to owner.  "Show dogs" and "pet dogs" in each litter share the same genes and breed characteristics, but "pet dogs" may not meet all the specifications of the breed standard or may not "show well" even though they make wonderful pets.  A quality breeder may interview you before a purchase to maximize the chance of a proper placement.  Other benefits and requirements may be specified in a written contract  (for example: right of return, health guarantee, neutering or show requirements).

Some of our members have well-established breeding programs.  Others are part of breeding programs out of our geographic area.  The listings below do not carry any endorsement from the Connecticut Boxer Club but if you are looking for a puppy, you might search their websites or contact them directly for recommendations.  We also invite you to come to our meetings and learn more about the breed and breeders.
